Over a lovely afternoon beverage we caught up with Vickie from The Little House of Vintage. Vickie sells some gorgeous furniture and decorating items . Make sure you have transport as you won’t want to leave our Boozy Xmas Market on the 10th December without purchasing something fabulous from Vickie.
Q. Well hello there! First thing’s first… who are you and what do you do?
I am Vickie from The Little House of Vintage – Furniture by Vickie.
I restore and paint carefully selected, pre-loved furniture, giving back a lost purpose and infusing new charm.
Q. And how did you get into this business?
By chance, needed a new vocation in my latter years of life and had painted my own pieces of furniture. My daughter & husband encouraged me to pursue this as a business.
Q. What do you enjoy most about being the boss at your business?
Having the freedom to work when I want and being answerable to myself. To have the imagination and carry it out all on my own.
Q. We are incredibly happy that you will be at our Boozy Xmas Market. Are you planning anything special for day?
Q. What’s your biggest selling product?
As all my items are original pieces and very individual I don’t have one.
Q. How many markets and events would you estimate you attend in a year? What, in your opinion, makes an enjoyable market for both seller and buyer?
I have only been in businesses since September but this will be my fourth event and through my limited experience I think for the buyer the atmosphere and vibe needs to be good, background music, entertainment (but not too much to distract from buying) and most importantly being greeted with happy sellers. For us the sellers knowing that all has been done to advertise the venue, space to be able to sell their products and personally not charging entry to the venue. The rest is up to us the seller to try and sell our wares.
Now some fun stuff
Q. Guilty pleasure song:
Christmas isn’t Christmas without the one and only
Q. Do you have a TV show you’re currently addicted to? (Not a Goggle-boxer? How about a favourite book right now?)
